Croc Turboion Classic Straightener Review
Essential Details of the Croc Turboion Classic Straightener
Today, I would like to share with you, my review of the Croc Turboion Classic Straightener. This flat iron has “1-1/2 inch [black]Titanium ceramic plates” and has a leading edge “‘nano-fine’ ceramic” heating. It also has a “retro-futuristic hair reconstructor and reconditioner” that uses “infrared heat.” This lengthens the time colored or dyed hair needs before root touch-ups or redying. Additionally, the flat iron has “dual plate technology” that ensures it heats quickly and cools quickly too.

As well, the straightener has a maximum temperature of”450 º F ” and is equipped with a “silver-coated dual cover.” This means the temperature of the handle and casing of the straightener will not burn or hurt your hands while using it to iron your hair. One of my pet peeves is picking up a straightener that has a casing (outside) that is too hot!
More Vital Details
Furthermore. I love that the length of the Croc Straightener’s power cord is ” 9 feet” and it has a ” 360 º swivel.” The flat iron’s ‘dual plate’ silver-coating means that it “maintain[s] even heat” while you iron your hair. The straightener also has Titanium plates which for me, always work better than pure ceramic plates.
As well, this flat iron has a digital temperature setting with “25 heat settings” from ” 200 º F to 450 º F.” It keeps your hair “silky, and “shin[y]” too. Also, it’s a sturdy and dependable flat iron that allows you to maintain straight hair for the entire day. It has the most “advanced Ceramic Technology” out there and is the beauty industries “first” “environment[ally]-friendly” flat iron. To me, the environmentally-friendly aspect is a plus.
Design of Croc Turboion Classic Straightener
Comfortable to Hold & Light Weight!
What’s unique about this straightener is its authentic design. The casing is thinner “at the base than at the top” of the iron. This means that the area where you hold the iron is smaller. This is wonderful, especially if you’re a woman with smaller hands. Also if you’re searching for a straightener that isn’t too heavy to hold while ironing your hair, I think this is a good option.
Also, this straightener is not a bulky despite its Titanium plates and special casing. The Titanium plates work to make your hair smooth, and the plates don’t ever chip. Ceramic plates “can often chip.” Nonetheless, along with the Titanium plates, the light-weight of this straightener adds to its design quality.
Titanium Plates
Furthermore, the 1-1/2-inch Titanium plates from the Croc Turboion Classic Straightener are excellent for women with long and thick hair. But if you have shorter hair that you like to straighten, you’re going to need a thinner flat iron. Even longer and thicker hair might require a thinner iron depending on your type of hair. Instead, you might read our review for the MumaBella Keratin Dual Touch Hair Straightener Review.
As well, the flat irons shape is designed so that “the heating elements” remains “far away from your hands.” This means there is less chance you’ll end up burning yourself.
Memory Features
This straightener’s “digital temperature setting” is useful because it ‘remembers’ your previous settings, so you don’t have to set your preferred temperature each time you use it. Remembering to set the temperature isn’t hard, but occasionally, it is easy to forget if you’re multitasking while styling your hair.
This is problematic if your hair isn’t straightening because the temperature setting you’re using is too low. As well, it can also be problematic if you’ve been using a temperature setting that is too high for thinner hair. It can cause unwanted damage to your mane.
Croc Turboion Classic Straightener HairStyling Tips
Not Shaped For Curls!
If you’re a person who wants to use you Croc Straightener for curling your hair, you’ll need to find a thinner iron. For a wavy or more defined curl styles, this Croc straightener doesn’t work well. Since the Titanium plates are “wider than the rest of the iron,” there’s “little” or no room to make curls except if you’ve hair that is long. Nevertheless, if you “intend” to only flat iron your hair, the larger 1-1/2-inch plates will be fantastic. You can also check-out the CHI Original Pro Ceramic Ionic Tourmaline Straightener Review.
Perfect for Course Hair!
Since this flat iron gives a “combination of consistent heat” and has Titanium plates, it’s a ‘game changer’ for women with coarse hair. Also, it’s super for thick or coarse hair because of its high-heat settings. As well as, the fact the iron maintains its hot temperature (sometimes too much!!).
Furthermore, if you have hair that’s hard to flat iron, you’ll be more than pleased with this straightener. It saves me a lot of time because I don’t have to repeatedly flatten each section of hair many times. Pulling the straightener through each section of your hair once is enough for a straight glossy finish. This is the kind of finish you and I both want!
Croc Turboion Classic Straightener: Products to Use

Bumble & Bumble Straight Blow Dry is a “light-weight” and “high-activated” styling balm that provides smooth, healthy-looking hair. It gives your hair “movement” and is “non-greasy” and light. It also “tames flyaways” and leaves hair without frizz. The product protects your hair from “heat-styling and humidity” and is perfect for “curly, thick, coarse, or unmanageable hair.”
One last, Bumble & Bumble product I l like to spray on your after you’ve finished styling it with a Croc Turboion Classic Straightener is Bumble & Bumble Spray de Mode Flexible Hold Hairspray. It’s not from their ‘Straight’ line, but the reason I like it is that after you are done ironing your hair, you spray this on top, and it will gently hold your hairstyle in place. I won’t be too heavy and ‘mold’ your hair as some other hairsprays do.
As well, this Bumble & Bumble hairspray is a “multidimensional hairspray” that is a flexible or workable hairspray with “exceptional memory.” It can also be brushed out of your hair for a brand new style the next day. It also sprays a “fine” and “even mist” leaving your hair with a dry finish. This keeps your straightened hair in place until you want to change your style.
Croc Turboion Classic Straightener Reviews
The Stats
On Amazon.com the Croc Turboion Classic Straightener had only four reviews with five stars each. However, looking at the ratings on other websites to give you a better idea of the flat iron’s rating with more reviews I found an average of 3.8 out of 5 was given for this straightener. As well, “76 percent” of those who purchased the straightener would repurchase it, but the price was considered relatively expensive for a straightener.
Good Reviews!
One woman with medium thick, blond, wavy hair, said that she “love[d]” this flat iron and the fact that it came in hot pink and black. She said it straightened her hair in “one pass” and that her wavy hair “stays straight for the day.” Also, she said the plates “glide super-smoothly” and the digital temperature setting made it easy to choose the temperature she required. She also noted that the flat iron heated quickly.
A second, purchaser of this flat iron who said her hair type was “thick, coarse ringlets” commented that she was able to “straighten [her] hair” in “15 minutes before going out” with this Croc straightener. She wrote that her hair remains flat but she “still ha[s] to spend [an] hour blow drying” her hair beforehand. For her, the ironing process is faster with this iron, and her curly hair appears straight right after flat ironing, no waiting required. Her only concern is that the straightener heats up too fast and she’s “afraid it will damage [her] hair more than” her old ceramic flat iron. For this reason, she uses it only on special occasions.

Bad Reviews!
Furthermore, below are some negative reviews I read about the Croc Straightener. One woman said to not “waste your money on the Croc infrared flat iron” as it isn’t “reliable.” She also notes the straightener is a “very expensive and doesn’t last” as she “paid $210 for this flat iron” and even though she could’ve bought it for $169, on Amazon, she read that Croc wouldn’t honor the warranty if she purchased it through Amazon them.
Moreover, this woman wrote that when buying her straightener from Croc, the flat iron only lasted three months anyways and Croc wanted money to ship the flat iron back to her after they agreed to fix it. By the time she received her flat iron back, it had been “2 months, own ” and Croc would not “extend” t arranty for her new straightener.
One last review commented that her Croc Turbion Classic Straightener “began producing smoke” and “the plates melted off” and “became dislodged.” This lady noted that ” [b]lack glue was oozing from the product” and she was scared the “entire” straightener would “catch fire” based on how much this Croc flat iron was “melting” and smoking. She was most afraid that the “outcome” would’ve been worse if her hair caught on fire or her bedroom.
Final Thoughts
Although many expensive flat irons such as the Croc Turboion Classic Straightener are cheaper on Amazon.com, I’ve found through researching several straighteners, that many customers receive fakes. It is ‘up for grabs’ who receives actual brand name straighteners, and who will receive ‘look a-likes.’ Nevertheless, all reviews on Amazon and some on other sites were pleased with this straightener.
However, I was scared reading about how hot Croc Straightener could become. It’s a frightening to think it could become so hot the iron could melt and smoke. If you’re a person with thicker or longer hair, this flat iron may not be the right flat iron for you as at high temperatures there is a greater probability your flat iron will melt, damage something your house, or start or your hair or house on fire.
Overall, this seems to be a mid-range flat iron. Although, it works well for some women who have curly or wavy hair and only have to pass the straightener through their hair once. Purchasing a good Croc Straightener many depend on if you buy one that is defective or not.
If you receive a defective one you’re likely to be displeased. It’s a risk considering ordering if it from Croc, you will have to pay more money for having it fixed or replaced. Also, the fact that even a few people experienced this flat iron melting or being too hot to touch would make me leary of purchasing the straightener.
